1. High-Speed Steel (HSS): High-speed steel is a versatile tooling material known for its high wear resistance, hardness, and toughness. 2. Carbide: Carbide tools are made from tungsten carbide particles bonded with cobalt or nickel. 6. Coated Tools: Coated tooling materials are conventional tool substrates like HSS, carbide, or cermet that are coated with thin layers of wear-resistant coatings like titanium nitride (TiN), titanium carbonitride (TiCN), or aluminum titanium nitride (AlTiN). Coated tools provide enhanced wear resistance, heat resistance, and lubricity, improving cutting performance and extending tool life.
